Electrical Systems Engineer (Electrical systems and control-command department) DIO n° 17.20 & 17.21


Engineering and Operations Directorate, Operations and Launch Complex Division, Electrical and Command-Control Systems Department, “Interfaced and Power Supply Section” department head (DIO/OL/SC/IE).


As part of launch preparation, control and operations for the Ariane 5, Soyuz and Vega launchers, concerning electrical and command-control systems, in particular for special aspects related to launcher electrical systems and the associated ground/launcher interfaces (electrical power supply, onboard process control systems, and pyrotechnic systems), you will be in charge of the following:

Permanent functions:

  • Preparation of launch campaigns, in particular the integration of changes or specific requirements (drafting of operational procedures and preparation of operating plans, possible development of data processing and control software).
  • Preparation and execution (if needed) of preliminary functional validations for the associated ground support equipment (hardware and software).
  • Direct conduct of integrated operations for launcher electrical systems, as head of this specialty.
  • Processing of test results.
  • Tracking changes in the ground facilities associated with these specialties.

Operational functions: 

  • Head of the Sequence and Pyrotechnic specialty during Ariane 5 launch campaigns.

These activities are based on the following technical areas:

  • launcher electronic systems;
  • electrical and pyrotechnic control systems;
  • electrical power supply systems;
  • software operation of complex systems.

You will be working within a group of engineers, reporting to the head of the “Interfaced and Power Supply Section” department head.


You should have a degree from an engineering school or equivalent French or European university, with good basic knowledge of electrical engineering, electronics, applied information technology or aerospace systems. You may already have initial experience in conducting tests or developing onboard systems.

Because this position is performed within an operational context combining the execution of basic tasks with team management during launch campaigns, it requires the following:

  • an ability to analyze and synthesize information,
  • good organizational skills and a methodological approach,
  • ability to work in a team,
  • good relationship skills,
  • excellent availability.

Because Arianespace is an international business, you should be comfortable working in both French and English. The knowledge of another European language will be considered as an asset.


EVRY (South suburb of Paris) with many long business trips to KOUROU (French Guyana). After two or three years, you should expect a three or six-year assignment in French Guiana.


Management I or II depending on experience.
